Were space invaders drawn to the Strip in March?

Recent UFO footage over Las Vegas Blvd

A cluster of mysterious luminescent orbs above the Las Vegas Strip caught on tape last month have some wondering if the city that draws millions of tourists a year might also have some extraterrestrial visitors.

The video, titled “Recent UFO footage over Las Vegas Blvd,” was recorded March 21 by a visitor from Ohio and posted to the video-sharing site YouTube three days later. It has since been viewed more than 44,000 times and spread to other social networking sites such as Facebook.

In it, several bright spots of light can be seen rotating in a fixed pattern high above the Strip near the Luxor’s famous beam of light.

Comments on YouTube speculate that the unidentified lights may be birds or bats passing through the Luxor’s beam.

But the poster of the video, who goes by the screen name UFOzAreVeryReal, maintains that the lights are not of this world.

Two other videos posted by separate people to YouTube on March 22 also seem to show the mysterious lights dancing above the Luxor.

So, were the lights above the Strip just birds or possibly something more? Watch the video and decide for yourself. But be warned, the videographer makes ample use of profanity to express his wonderment.

  1. Well Duh! It's April Fools day.

  2. Little green men! I saw them. They stayed at the Luxor to get the full effect of the pyramid.

  3. UFOs....Please, this is embarrassing.
