A man, his ex-girlfriend and their infant are dead in what Metro Police are investigating as a murder-suicide that took place Friday night.

Police say that at about 8:39 p.m., a man called to report his girlfriend, who hadn’t showed up for her job at a local hospital, missing and possibly in danger.

Officers were dispatched to the home of the woman's ex-boyfriend, where she would have been dropping off her child. After receiving no answer at the door of the home on the 7700 block of Mocorito Avenue, police spotted what they say was an “inordinate amount of blood” while looking in a window, indicating that something may have occurred inside.

Police later found a deceased male, female and infant in the suspect’s car near Sunset Road and Hualapai Way, approximately 4.5 miles from the Mocorito address. Homicide detectives say the woman and her child may have been killed at the suspect’s home and then placed in the car.

Police suspect the man drove the bodies to the area and then committed suicide by shooting himself, according to police. All three appeared to have died from possible gunshot wounds.

The identities of the victims will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
