Henderson residents will have the opportunity to meet members of the Henderson City Council and city representatives Saturday at the annual “City Hall at the Mall.”
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in the upper level food court area at the Galleria at Sunset, 1300 Sunset Road.
Residents can get information on city services, programs, projects and meet with city officials.
Visitors will also hear the five contest winners read their entries from the “If I Were the Mayor of Henderson” student essay contest for fifth-graders.
Out of 175 entries, the five contest winners are Gabriel Bassin from Elise L. Wolff Elementary, Aaron Cagle from Frank Lamping Elementary, Miranda Derossi from Foothills Montessori School, Tonwa Joseph Hauff from Edna F. Hinman Elementary and Isabella Mitchell from Foothills Montessori School.
The students were selected based on their spelling, grammar, originality and understanding of local government.The presentation will start at 2 p.m. in the upper-level food court area. Mayor Andy Hafen will be the moderator.
This year the event will include information on recycling and offer residents a chance to provide feedback on the single-stream recycling pilot program.
The Henderson Fire Department will also give people the opportunity to try on firefighter gear and equipment.
