Letter to the editor:

‘Occupy Las Vegas’ has noble agenda

At a time when police flash-bang grenades in cities worldwide set streets on fire in tear gas plumes, and citizen efforts to peacefully assemble and seek redress from their governments are repeatedly crushed, there’s a much bigger story here at home. Don’t miss it.

It’s astonishing how Occupy Las Vegas, Metro Police, Clark County commissioners and others across our community have demonstrated that our state and national constitutions work together when our people work together. It’s that simple.

The commissioners and Metro have justifiable concerns. Occupy Las Vegas members have a multitude of concerns summed up in the Declaration of Occupy Las Vegas that’s printed on orange shirts they wear calling for a 28th Amendment to remove corporations and big money from politics.

It’s that simple.

The declaration continues: (W)henever any Form of Government becomes destructive of (Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness), it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government.

As many see it, it’s that simple.

There’s simply no arguing with shirts; they don’t answer back.

There’s a secret code that allows anyone to support the movement, whoever they are and whenever and wherever they go simply by wearing or carrying something orange if they don’t have an orange OLV shirt. Smart. Follow the code!

Go orange! It’s that simple.

Las Vegas: This ain’t there! It’s here, baby.
