A pedestrian was in critical condition after being hit by a pickup truck Tuesday morning on Rancho Drive, Metro Police said.
Police said witnesses and evidence at the scene indicate 36-year-old Jason Miller of Las Vegas was standing on the east sidewalk of Rancho Drive, 228 feet north of Ricky Road, waiting to cross the street at 9:12 a.m.
A 2000 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck, driven by Brian Anderson, 40, of Las Vegas was headed north on Rancho in the right lane, police said. Anderson said he heard a thump as he passed the man, looked in his side mirror and saw him lying in the roadway, police said.
Miller was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said. Anderson and a passenger were unharmed.
Police say the incident is under investigation.
