Henderson man killed Friday in I-15 crash identified

Map

Officials today identified a Henderson man killed Friday after his SUV overturned on Interstate 15 near Moapa.

Shawn Thomas Warren, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene early Friday morning, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

At about 3 a.m. Friday, Warren was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac southbound on I-15 near Moapa. For unknown reasons his vehicle left the road and entered the east gravel shoulder, the highway patrol said.

Warren tried to correct his steering to the right, causing the Explorer to rotate clockwise, investigators said. The vehicle then re-entered I-15 and began to overturn, coming to rest in the dirt embankment west of I-15, where Warren was ejected.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
