It is hard to believe that Gov. Brian Sandoval actually said, “I am not going to support any tax increases under any circumstances.”
Does he not pay attention to the opinions of Nevada voters and some Republican legislators, many of whom question this rigid, uncompromising approach to problem-solving?
At least one poll, commissioned for the Retailers Association of Nevada, shows that 52 percent of voters prefer tax increases to severe cuts in spending on education. One cannot anticipate every crisis that may arise where the only solution would be an increase in taxes.
