The man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing on the Las Vegas Strip this weekend has been identified as 25-year-old Victor Quijano.
Metro Police said Quijano, of Las Vegas, has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police were called about 4:15 a.m. about a fight involving several people on the walkway between MGM Grand and New York-New York.
Officers arrived to find two Hispanic men suffering from multiple stab wounds, Lt. Lew Roberts said.
Both victims were transported to UMC Trauma, where one of them was pronounced dead, Roberts said. The other was expected to survive after surgery.
Officers were able to capture two suspects who were near the stabbings and took them into custody without incident, he said.
The Clark County Coroner's Office will identify the victim pending notification of family and an autopsy.
Quijano is being held in the Clark County Detention Center without bail, according to jail records. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
I wish the rat cowards who hype this life style mentioned these consequences in their cowardly music/life style.
Very good Victor. The decision to carry a knife and use it has landed you in the county jail and ultimately in state prison for years and years. Just think, 24 hours ago you were enjoying yourself on the strip, hitting up NYNY and the MGM Grand. Now you get to rot in a jail cell for years, possibly decades.
Let me guess, all as the probable result of some stupid slight like someone bumping into you or glancing at your girlfriend. Nice life you've set yourself up for.
I just can't get past the idea of violence. It's just better to walk away free than make a point and suffer the indignity of now being told when to eat, sleep, walk, shower, sh*t in a 6 x 9 cell. Good decision you made there Victor. You thought you were gaining respect...now enjoy decades of disrespect as you wallow in jail. Just stupid violence beyond belief.
What ever happened to fighting with fists? Give/Take a good butt beating but at the end of the day everyone is alive.
because Tom_Duh, as unlv702 pointed out, the thugs who think they are all bada** and hype this type of lifestyle are actually total cowards. otherwise they would just get in a good old fashioned fist fight/wrestling match.
That's just the thing tourists want to see. 'Hey,how was Vegas?',"Great!,We saw someone get shanked on the bridge over the strip!' . Good times.
if you have a problem with someone else walk away,if you can't then fight like a man,this guy deserves to get the death penalty if guilty.
