A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash that involved another vehicle Thursday afternoon in North Las Vegas.

Police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said the motorcycle crashed about 3:15 p.m. as a result of an incident with an SUV, but it's unknown whether the SUV came into contact with the motorcycle or cut him off at a stop sign, causing him to crash.

The incident occurred on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Reverend Wilson Avenue, which is between Carey and Cheyenne avenues.

Police are looking for the driver of the SUV. The vehicle was described as red and about a 10- or 15-year-old model, possibly a Mitsubishi. The driver of the SUV was described as being a 20- to 30-year-old Hispanic or light-skinned black man with a mustache and short hair.

The name of the motorcyclist will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Police closed a stretch of Martin Luther King Boulevard during the investigation.
