Beltway lanes to reopen at North Fifth Street

Beltway construction

Motorists will be able to return to the main lanes of the Las Vegas Beltway at North Fifth Street by Monday morning.

Traffic on the beltway in that area has been using temporary lanes for the past six months as work progressed on a new interchange.

Crews will begin shifting traffic back to the main lanes at 9 p.m. Sunday and by 5 a.m. Monday, all of the lanes will be shifted back.

The $11.8 million interchange project is expected to be done this fall. In the meantime, ramps from Fifth Street to the westbound beltway will remain closed. Eastbound traffic will continue to have access to North Fifth.

The contractor on the project is Meadow Valley Contractors.
