It’s not often that a negative list comes out that Nevadans would advocate being a part of, but an online news site has come up with something that might make political junkies feel left out.
AlterNet.org has published a list of the 10 craziest state legislatures in America and we’re not on it. The piece was written by Kenneth Quinnell, a writer for the Florida Progressive Coalition. Quinnell says the worst examples have come from Republican-controlled legislatures. Michigan, which is No. 10 on the list, cut funding for the state’s Department of Human Services, including $10 million that had been used to clothe orphans.
Youth in North Dakota, which is No. 4 on the list, didn’t fare much better. Quinnell says state Sen. Oly Larson opposed anti-bullying laws because he didn’t want that state’s children to become “emotional marshmallows.”
The state that tops AlterNet.org’s list is Arizona, which the site says has “the worst legislature in the United States.” Things like the state’s laws on immigration and concealed weapons helped make it No. 1.
"The number of times the legislature alone makes it on the national radar, not even touching on Gov. Jan Brewer, makes it a leader in state-level extremism" said Quinnell.
There's more than 10 states that would qualify for this list but I guess the writer ran out of room. As far as Arizona goes, the writer just doesn't agree with what the people of Arizona want. I guess the writer doesn't live where Illegal Aliens are breaking into houses, kidnapping people, running the hospitals bankrupt, filling the schools with their kids, and generally making life rotten for the citizens of the state. He is probably just a Liberal Elitist from New York that thinks everyplace should be as rotten as his city is.

As for your "facts" about the immigrant problem in AZ, well you may want to do some actual research. Making stuff up is fun, but its not honest.

We don't have an immigrant problem in AZ anymore. Illegal immigration is at its lowest in years. What we have is a legislature problem. Our anti-illegal alien law, SB 1070, was written by the American Legislative Exchange Council, a fascist neoconservative lobby that pretends to be a non-profit non-partisan organization. It writes laws and legislation that benefit big corporations. SB 1070 was created for the private prison industry. Jan Brewer, our darling governor, is one of their minions. Those are the '"facts."
There are no statistics to back up the claim that illegals are bankrupting our hospital emergency rooms. Undocumented patients constitute only .6 percent of ER visits. Most children in our schools are born-in-America citizens. What is making life rotten for AZ citizens is our corporate-owned legislature. Dear Leader Jan Brewer just authorized $50 million to build a border fence which will be erected by private prison labor.
