A wildfire in the Spring Mountains west of the Las Vegas Valley had grown to seven acres Monday night, but officials said no structures are threatened.

The fire, located about three miles northwest of the Las Vegas Beltway and Summerlin Parkway interchange, was one acre in size at about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The fire, which officials have named the La Madre Fire, is within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

The Bureau of Land Management has called in 30 firefighters -- up from 10 firefighters earlier in the afternoon -- and three single-engine air tankers to extinguish the fire.

BLM officials say no structures are threatened and firefighters hope to contain the blaze Monday night. Officials says it's not known how the fire started.
