Storm drain project to affect traffic on Lone Mountain Road

Storm drain project

A storm drain project will restrict traffic on Lone Mountain Road between Rancho Drive and Decatur Boulevard for more than a year.

The $9 million project to install 11,000 linear feet of new storm drains is scheduled to begin Monday and continue until summer 2012, city officials said.

Motorists can expect delays on Lone Mountain throughout the project. Work is expected to begin at Decatur Boulevard and move west toward Rancho Drive as the project progresses.

The project will cause major disruptions at the intersection of Lone Mountain and Jones Boulevard in August and September, officials said.

Work will also take place on Rancho Drive between Lone Mountain and Rainbow Boulevard.

During the project, motorists can use Craig or Ann roads as alternatives to Lone Mountain.

The Clark County Regional Flood District is funding the project. The contractor is Spirit Underground and PBS&J is managing construction for the city.
