Jonathan Duhamel of Canada holds up his championship bracelet after beating John Racener in the finals of the World Series of Poker Main Event at the Rio on Monday, November 8, 2010. Duhamel won the bracelet and $8.9 million in prize money.

Poker players will have 58 shots to realize the dream of winning a gold bracelet this summer at the 2011 World Series of Poker.

The World Series of Poker on Monday released its schedule for this year. It features 58 events, which is one more than last year.

"Something for everyone is the best way to describe the 2011 World Series of Poker," WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel said in a statement. "It's staggering to think that last year alone the WSOP hosted nine of the 17 largest tournaments in poker history. We had 44 events produce more than a $1 million prize pool, so we can't wait to get at it again and offer players at all levels the best poker action on the planet."

The 42nd annual World Series of Poker kicks off May 31 with the $25,000 Heads-Up No Limit Hold'em Championship. The summer's two biggest events will be saved for last.

The $50,000 Poker Player's Championship, an eight-game mixed event won last year by Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, will be July 2.

Less than a week later, the $10,000 Main Event commences with four starting days from July 7 to July 10. The 2010 Main Event attracted the second-largest WSOP field of all-time with 7,319 players. Canadian Jonathan Duhamel won the event and $8.9 million.

The full schedule is available on the World Series of Poker Web site.
