A woman was killed and a man was injured early Friday morning after being struck by a car near Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue, according to Metro Police.

Police said two pedestrians, one female and one male, were crossing Boulder Highway in the north crosswalk of Harmon Avenue about 1:46 a.m. when they were hit by a 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.

The driver of the truck, a 21-year-old Las Vegas woman, had a green signal, police said. She remained at the scene and was not injured, police said.

Both pedestrians were taken to Sunrise Hospital where the 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead. The male pedestrian, identified by police as 58-year-old John Salvo Jr., is in critical condition.

The identity of the woman will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after her family is notified.

Metro is investigating the accident, which is the 69th fatal incident of the year, police said.
