A suspected drug-impaired driver struck and killed a 34-year-old man Tuesday night who was crossing Lamb Boulevard in the eastern valley.

Metro Police said the incident happened at 11:34 p.m. when the pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk, was crossing Lamb north of Cincinnati Avenue from east to west.

A 1992 Lexus SC300, driven by 31-year-old Muvaraq Hanga-Taylor, was traveling north on Lamb in the left travel lane when it hit the pedestrian, police said.

The victim came to rest in the southbound lanes of Lamb, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify him pending notification of his family.

Hanga-Taylor fled the scene, driving north on Lamb Boulevard, but police later found him, authorities said. He was arrested in connection with DUI-drugs and felony hit-and-run, police said

The incident marked the 46th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. The accident investigation is ongoing.
