Panel names finalists to replace Judge Jackie Glass

Three Las Vegas attorneys are finalists to succeed Clark County District Judge Jackie Glass, who resigned to host a nationally syndicated court television program.

The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection named as finalists: Michael Davidson, 57, of the firm of Kolesar & Leatham; Carolyn Ellsworth, 56, of the Nevada Secretary of State's Office and Adriana Escobar, 52, of the fraud unit in the Attorney General's Office.

The commission interviewed 16 applicants Tuesday and Wednesday before choosing three names to send to Gov. Brian Sandoval, who will make the appointment.

The governor must name the replacement within 30 days or is barred from making other appointments to public offices. The individual who is selected will be required to run for election next year.
