Letter to the Editor:

Obama is plenty qualified to lead

Regarding Clarence Lanzrath’s Wednesday letter to the editor — headlined “Why Obama still warrants scrutiny” — in which he says a closer look should be taken at President Barack Obama’s qualifications and background during his re-election bid:

Sen. Obama was in the right place at the right time to hear what the average voter had to say in 2008. He was elected president by voters who felt they were heard by him.

(Although I’ve read that Obama doesn’t like confrontation, and I wish he were more forceful with the opposition party, the president inherited two wars and a tax cut for the wealthy. The business owners used that money to open business centers overseas and killed jobs here.)

Obama received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University. While at Harvard Law School, he was voted president of the Law Review. In addition, he taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School.

If that doesn’t qualify him, I don’t know what will convince anybody.
