Letter to the Editor:

Dotty’s shouldn’t have to change

The Dotty’s slot parlor chain is being attacked by corporate casinos because they want it all. Greed is thy name and gambling is thy game.

I’m told small business is the backbone of this country, so why is Dotty’s being attacked? It has been here since 1995 and is licensed to run its businesses as it has for years.

Now the Nevada Gaming Commission wants to require slot parlors such as Dotty’s to have a permanent bar, a kitchen open 12 hours a day and at least 2,000 square feet for its restaurant.

Perhaps Dotty’s clients don’t want a bar or need a kitchen to satisfy their needs. If they did, they’d frequent casinos.

I say leave well enough alone — the pie is big enough for all to enjoy.
