Jail visitation resumes after search for contraband completed

Social visits and in-house inmate programs suspended Monday at the Clark County Detention Center have resumed after officials completed a search for contraband, Metro Police said.

The order suspending the programs was lifted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Metro said in a news release.

“There are no additional details available concerning this incident,” said a note accompanying the release.

The order was put into place as the result of what an earlier statement said was “contraband and other safety concerns.”

Official business, including attorney visits, was not interrupted. Metro Police originally said the order was expected to last until Friday.
