Quit raiding Social Security

There seems to be a lot of news from politicians these past few months about how much money we owe China, which is about 9.5 percent of U.S. debt; however, we owe Social Security nearly double that amount, 18 percent of our debt.

For decades, Social Security generated more revenue than it paid out in benefits — the excess was used to fund other government operations. Maybe these same politicians should start telling us how they are going to pay back the money they took from the Social Security Trust Fund. And, I might add, trust funds are not to be used other than for their intended use.
