Sugarland The country duo survived a tragic stage collapse in Indiana earlier this month, so we’re expecting this Mandalay Bay stopover to get emotional. August 27, 8 p.m., $55-$95, Mandalay Bay. .

Butthole Surfers How wild are the alt-rock veterans live? One of our co-workers was once in the crowd when frontman Gibby Haynes pulled out a shotgun and aimed it in his direction. Sounds … intense. With 400 Blows, August 28, 9 p.m., $34, the Pearl.

Restaurant Week This annual event is actually a two-week celebration of fine dining, featuring exclusive three-course menus at eateries all over the Valley, with proceeds benefiting anti-hunger organization Three Square. August 29-September 11.

Vegas Cinefest The latest film festival to stake its claim locally features a range of shorts and features, including John Landis’ new dark comedy Burke & Hare, starring Simon Pegg, and a documentary about Manny Pacquiao’s budding music career. Shuck 'N Swallow Two-man chef teams from Vegas restaurants have eight minutes to rapidly shuck and devour oysters in front of a loud and rowdy audience hopped up on food and drink specials. Proceeds go to Three Square, and to the victor goes the tummyache. August 31, 3-5 p.m., First Food & Bar.
