Metro Police released surveillance video images today of an armed man who robbed a bank Friday near downtown Las Vegas.

Police said the robbery occurred at 11:32 a.m. in the 1700 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near 17th Street. Police didn't identify the bank.

The man entered through the bank’s south doors and, while speaking Spanish, told everyone inside to “get down,” authorities said. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the bank teller while speaking English, police said.

The man fled after the teller complied with his demands, police said.

Authorities described him as Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old, about 5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-7-inches tall and 200 to 220 pounds. He had a mustache.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, a black ball cap with red on the bill and sunglasses, police said.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro’s robbery section at (702) 828-3591 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
