People gather at the 10th annual Super Run Car Show at 200 South Water St. in Henderson on Sept. 25, 2009, to view and display classic vehicles.

Henderson residents will have plenty of options for weekend fun this fall, with more than two dozen different musical, cultural and theatrical events planned around the city.

The city’s Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism recently released its fall schedule, which includes a mix of popular returning events and new productions.

The schedule kicks off Aug. 19 with the Broadway Vignettes, an ode to the best of Broadway music.

For the culturally minded, Henderson is hosting celebrations of places from around the world, including India, the Pacific Islands and New York City.

In October, theater lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy Shakespeare in the Park and a production of Sweeney Todd.

A variety of musical acts, including teen pop star Miranda Cosgrove and Christian rock band Casting Crowns, will make stops in Henderson in the coming months. The Henderson Symphony Orchestra, now in its 25th year, will also play a number of concerts.

Other events include the ever-popular Super Run Classic Car Show, the Marines Ironman World Championship 70.3 and the Henderson Banks 250 Desert Classic, an off-road race.

For a complete listing of events, visit the hendersonlive website. Tickets vary in price and can be ordered online or by calling 267-4849. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Henderson Pavilion Box Office, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
