Crash location
The Clark County Coroner's Office today identified a woman killed early Saturday when she was struck by a suspected drunken driver as Maria Sotelo.
Sotelo, 46, was standing behind her 1994 Ford Ranger, which was parked in front of a residential driveway on Upland Boulevard north of Mayflower Lane, when a 19-year-old driver crashed into her and her vehicle about 12:30 a.m., Metro Police said.
Sotelo was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The driver of the 1999 Mercedes Benz E320 that crashed into the truck, identified as Ivan Pantoja-Lizarraga, was arrested in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol involving an accident with death and failure to drive in the travel lane, police said.
