Letter to the editor:

Blaming Obama for all of our ills is preposterous

I’ve read that President Barack Obama is being blamed for everything short of the Johnstown Flood of 1889. That’s right.

Everyone knows that Obama took us to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight two useless wars financed mainly by bleeding the Social Security funds nearly dry.

Obama has personally handed out pink slips to millions of workers in his effort to keep unemployment high.

He has taken charge of the housing crisis by handing out untold numbers of subprime mortgages and then delivering numerous foreclosure notices.

Obama stalled Congress in acting on a budget reduction plan so that Congress had only a few days to reach an agreement instead of months.

Finally, he has told members of Congress that since we have been downgraded by Standard & Poor’s, they should pack up and go home on vacation.

Please, get a life.

Has Barack Obama done a good job? Overall, not really. But corporations are sitting on trillions in cash and refusing to hire the unemployed, banks are foreclosing at a record pace because they are protected by PMI, and two wars are continuing because it is more important to fight 8,000 miles away instead of using our military to physically protect our border. Not even the great Republican savior, Ronald Reagan, could do much better under the circumstances.

Will Obama be elected in 2012? Probably not. Actually, I hope a Republican gets into the White House and the conservatives have total control of Congress. That way, beginning in 2013, they will have no one to blame but themselves.
