Metro Police said a multi-vehicle collision thrust a vehicle onto a sidewalk near Charleston Boulevard and Main Street, where it struck a pedestrian this afternoon.

The pedestrian, Amy Gray, 28, of Las Vegas, was in serious to critical condition at University Medical Center, police said.

A Honda Civic was following a Chevy Malibu west on Charleston, at Art Way, just before 2 p.m. when the Chevy stopped for a light, police said. The Honda couldn’t stop in time, moved into the center lane and collided with a Ford F150 pickup truck and then into the Chevy, police said.

The pickup ran onto the sidewalk and hit the pedestrian and then a fire hydrant, before driving back onto Charleston, police said.

Police shut down the westbound and eastbound lanes of Charleston Boulevard from Third Street to Main Street as they investigated and cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
