Two men suspected of robbing banks in the Las Vegas Valley over the past few days were arrested Thursday afternoon after a failed robbery attempt, Metro Police said.

Patrick Montalvo, 19, was arrested inside a bank in the 500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South by officers responding to a robbery in progress call.

His alleged accomplice, 25-year-old Darren Dillingham, was arrested shortly afterward near the bank, police said. Authorities didn't identify the bank.

The two men are also suspected in Wednesday's robbery of a bank in the 300 block of West Russell Road and a Thursday robbery at a bank in the 2500 block of South Maryland Parkway.

In all three cases, one of the men went into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. In at least two instances, the men indicated they had a firearm.

Montalvo and Dillingham are both residents of Southern California and arrived by bus in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The men each face three federal counts of bank robbery.
