Thunderstorms to move across Las Vegas Valley

Drier weather moving in Thursday through the weekend, forecasters say

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be moving through Las Vegas again today, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms are expected through Clark, Lincoln, Mohave and eastern San Bernardino counties, the weather service said. However, severe weather and flash flooding are not likely, forecasters said.

The Las Vegas Valley will get mostly sunny skies, with a highs around 97 degrees on the west side of the valley to around 106 on the east side, they said.

Dry conditions are expected across the area Thursday through the weekend, they said. Temperatures will be near normal through the weekend, they said.

At 4:56 a.m. today, the temperature at McCarran International Airport was 89 degrees. The normal low for today's date is 81 degrees. The record low was 54 degrees, set in 1937.

Around the valley just before 5 a.m., temperatures were 87 degrees at North Las Vegas Airport, 88 degrees at Nellis Air Force Base and 86 degrees at Henderson Executive Airport.

Temperatures at McCarran were to rise today to 88 degrees by 9 a.m., to 96 degrees by noon and reach a high of 104 degrees by 3 p.m., forecasters said. The normal high for today's date is 104 degrees and the record high was 116 degrees, set in 1979.

Temperatures are expected to drop to 102 degrees by 6 p.m., to 97 degrees by 9 p.m. and to 91 degrees by midnight, forecasters said.

Thursday's morning low will be 83 degrees and Thursday's high will climb to 103 degrees, they said.
