I’m tired of Republicans telling us that President Barack Obama didn’t have a plan regarding the debt ceiling. The fact is that President Obama had a plan from the very beginning.
His plan, like presidents before him, was a clean bill to raise the debt limit. This shouldn’t have turned into a battle over the budget.
The Republican Party, under pressure from Tea Party adherents, is the one that turned this debt limit increase into a farce, while 401(k)s (the Republicans’ answer to Social Security) are slowly disappearing in the stock market.
The Republicans have been trying to jury-rig a budget for the world’s largest economy in a few weeks. How very stupid. Shouldn’t our spending cuts and tax increases be thought out very carefully?
