Letter to the editor:

Military action is to blame for our debt crisis

I’m 77 years old and a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. infantry. I have seen a lot of recessions in my time on earth, but this recession is the biggest I’ve ever seen or have been a part of.

I’ve seen the U.S. government in past years just print more money and the national debt would rise, resulting in the next generation being told that they would have the honor of paying these debts.

I could help put a dent in this U.S. government debt problem in only a half-hour. I think our leaders are very blind.

Our government leaders just have to bring all of our military troops home from Japan, Korea, all the European countries, Iraq, Afghanistan — and don’t forget the little problem war in Libya.

This type of offensive behavior is what our nation’s debt problem is all about. Who is kidding whom?
