The truth about Social Security is that it is self-sustaining and can be fixed far into the future with small adjustments. However, the tax reductions from the Bush II era and the two unfunded wars were paid for, in part, from money borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund.
But the rich, who have benefited from the tax reductions, do not want to help pay back these moneys. So the rich will get richer and the middle class and the poor will have to pay.
