CNN will produce a Republican presidential primary debate scheduled for October in Las Vegas.
The Western Republican Leadership Conference said today it selected CNN to host the GOP debate Oct. 18 at the Venetian.
Nevada has been chosen by the Republican National Committee to be one of the first states to vote in the Republican presidential primary.
The group said Republican leaders from states that make up the RNC’s Western Region will meet at the the Venetian during the week of Oct. 17 for a Western Republican Leadership Conference. The debate will take place as part of the WRLC’s four-day conference.
"Republicans in Western States will play an important role in determining the next Republican nominee for president," former Nevada Rep. Jon Porter, chairman of the Western Republican Leadership Conference, said in a prepared statement. "On behalf of the Western Republican Leadership Conference, I am excited to be working with CNN on this important debate. I look forward to hosting our 2012 presidential candidates, and showcasing their ideas on Western and national issues."

Will Senator Ensign be the Keynote Speaker at the Western Republican Leadership Conference???
Will Sharron Angle be a 'surprise' speaker at the Western Republican Leadership Conference??
So, when Democrats want to hold a debate for their Presidential candidates, they choose the public university in Las Vegas, a place paid for by the working people of Nevada.
When Republicans want to hold a debate for their Presidential candidates, they choose a hotel owned by an ultra-rich Right-Winger.
Nice that the Republicans are demonstrating once again, this early in the contest, that they represent the Sheldon Addlesons of the world and not the working people.
Now that will be good for a laugh or two.
Ahh, William. Let's look at your argument from another angle and see what more logical conclusion we can come to...
In your words: "So, when Democrats want to hold a debate for their Presidential candidates, they choose the public university in Las Vegas, a place paid for by the working people of Nevada."
Does it not occur to you that some of the people responsible for the funding of the Democratic party's Presidential debate, might be Republicans who didn't want the money you acknowledge they worked hard for to be used to pay for such an event? Of course it doesn't.
On the other hand, Republicans, by holding the debate at a private venue, are ensuring that the only people who will fund their event, will do so voluntarily.
Funny thing that logic.
