Famous Dave's BBQ
651 Mall Ring Circle, Henderson
The finger-licking platters of Famous Dave's Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que have found a new home across the road from Sunset Station in Henderson.
The new restaurant, developed by Sonoran Barbeque, opened last week, making it the fifth Famous Dave's location in the valley for the company.
The 6,500-square-foot store will be serving the barbecue delights that have made Dave's, well, famous.
The menu includes St. Louis-style ribs, Texas beef brisket, Georgia chopped pork, country roasted chicken and Dave's "famous bread pudding."
With a splattering of awards to its name, including first place in the Critic's Choice Awards for Greatest Ribs in America in 2009, the brand name pretty much sells itself, said Dave Dworak, director of operations for Sonoran Barbeque.
"It's just really good food, a great atmosphere, and great service," Dworak said. Sonoran Barbeque also operates Famous Dave's in Tucson and Yuma, Ariz.
The Henderson location has completed the company's development plans for the chain in the Las Vegas Valley, Dworak said.
As a proud owner, Dworak also has a few choice pickings from the menu. The All-American Feast is a favorite of his family, giving diners a little taste of everything from ribs to pulled pork to roasted chicken -- all served on top of a trash lid.
"Oh, yeah. We love Famous Dave's," he said. "We eat there every chance we get."
As with its other locations, Famous Dave's in Henderson will also offer catering for events and social gatherings "of all sizes," Dworak said.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Famous Dave's is good, but you can't get my chili made from leftover BBQ there. :) (And if it ain't wood-fired, it ain't BBQ!)
We smoke a pork butt, pork loin or hunk of beef every week, and always cook more than we need just so I can make a batch of chili or stew from what we don't eat the first night. My wife can make a mean batch of enchiladas from it, too.
Of course, there's no such thing as left-over ribs around our house.
I like Famous Dave's
The brisket is fantastic and make sure you check out the mac and cheese with a kick!
I'm excited about this!!
OK but don't like the fructose sugar in the sauce
It's good, but I think legen (wait for it) dary! is a stretch.
anything is legendary if you say it is..... tk
