Lane restrictions will have begun on Anthem Parkway due to a repaving project, Henderson officials said.

The eastern half of the road -- the two northbound lanes on Anthem Parkway -- will be closed through Oct. 18, officials said. The western half of the road – the southbound lanes – will be closed Oct. 25 through Nov. 8.

The road is a four-lane roadway divided by a median, so two lanes on either side of the roadway – the northbound or southbound lanes – will be closed during this time, said city spokeswoman Kathleen Richards.

During the five-week period, officials said, travel will be restricted to one lane in each direction, but will be open to traffic. The project is expected to be complete by March 2011.

The project will cost $592,000, officials said.
