Coroner IDs body found after NLV gas station explosion

Fire

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the body of a man found inside a North Las Vegas gas station that burst into flames this past weekend.

The body of Brandon Davis, 26, was found inside the gas station, the coroner's office said.

Officials said they don't know where Davis was from. His official cause of death is under investigation.

The Sept. 19 explosion occurred at about 2 a.m. at the business at 3820 E. Craig Road in the northeast valley. At first, fire officials didn't think anyone was injured in the fire.

The gas station had recently closed, officials said. The fire was described as a fireball that gutted the building.

Davis’ body was found about 8 a.m. Monday. North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said the building wasn't safe to enter on Sunday, explaining why the body wasn’t found sooner.

The explosion at the gas station was so forceful that it sent the front door of the building through the air and tore off its roof, said North Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Cedric Williams. The gas pumps weren't involved in the explosion.
