Firefighters prepare to enter a commercial building that caught fire Friday morning on Industrial Road. One woman was injured and brought to an area hospital.

One person suffered injuries this morning in a fire that damaged a commercial building on Industrial Road west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County firefighters responded at 8:46 a.m. to the three-alarm fire at 3135 Industrial Road. County spokesman Dan Kulin said the fire appeared to have started on the south side of the building. It was extinguished at 9:46 a.m.

One woman suffered injuries, but was conscious and alert, Kulin said. The woman was rescued from the first floor of the building and was taken to an area hospital, Deputy Chief Kelly Blackmon said.

Blackmon said it was unclear whether the woman was a worker or customer at a business in the building.

In total, 23 fire vehicles – including paramedics and fire engines – and 80 fire personnel responded to the scene, Blackmon said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue also sent several units to the location to assist.
