Forget Memorial and Labor Day Weekends. The real partying in Vegas happens on Halloween. Now with Fabulous Fest back for a third year and returning to its inaugural home at the Orleans Arena with a Pimp-N-Ho’lloween theme, we already can imagine the insanity when costumed partygoers meet two stages of electronic-dance-music headliners for an event that might make Southern California massives jealous. Enough with the intro, who the heck is playing for the Amsterdam-based Art of Dance 18 and up event?
Stage One welcomes Bad Boy Bill, Eddie Halliwell, Claude Von Stroke, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Reza, Beej and Danny Love, plus special guest John Huntington hosting and performing. Stage Two will have Designer Drugs, Sonic C. Plastician, Mr. White, Crusher Sound System and Vegas’ own Afghan Raiders.
The must-see artists on the lineup for Art of Dance’s Mauritus “Max” Vijsma? “Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano,” he says. “It’s mainstream meets underground, older meets younger... [they’re] this summer’s hit at Pacha, Ibiza and through Europe.”
“We are independent promoters who are really interested to bring high quality events to the USA,” says Vijsma. “It's our passion.”
The Orleans Arena, a Boyd Gaming facility located just west of the Las Vegas Strip, is one of the nation’s leading mid-sized arenas, and was recently ranked No. 1 in the United States and No. 5 internationally among venues of similar size by Venues Today Magazine.
The Arena hosts more than 200 events each year, including concerts by top names like Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Van Halen, Brooks & Dunn, Black Eyed Peas, Akon and Rihanna; family favorites like The Harlem Globetrotters and Circus Spectacular; and a wide variety of sporting events, including NCAA basketball tournaments, the West Coast Conference and Western Athletic Conference Basketball Championships, mixed martial arts with Superior Cage Combat, and major motorsports events.
The arena serves as home to the Las Vegas Wranglers professional ECHL hockey team, the Las Vegas Legends professional indoor soccer team, and the Lingerie Football League’s Las Vegas Sin. Stay connected to the Orleans Arena on Facebook (www.facebook.com/orleansarena) and on Twitter (@orleansarena).
