Todd Rich is deputy director of administration for the Nevada Business & Industry Department.

June Murray is vice president of family services for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. Murray served as the chairwoman of the social work program at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, chairwoman of the gerontology Program at Morgan State University and has maintained the practice of psychotherapy throughout her career.

Mariana Johnson is senior vice president and branch relationship manager of City National Bank’s Twain branch at 6085 W. Twain Ave. and Bart Roberts is vice president and branch relationship manager at its Hughes Center branch at 3883 Hughes Center Drive.

Norman D. Kirch was promoted to director of strategic account sales for Cox Business and Hospitality Network. Kirch was sales manager.

Kuhlman has been with the company for more than 10 years. Corey Olson was promoted to director of show services and will lead the show technology division for the company. Olson has been with LMG for more than 13 years.

Steve Angelo is vice president of sales for Integrated Media Technologies, which recently opened a Las Vegas office at 9811 W. Charleston Blvd., Ste. 2445.

Marek Bute, an associate with Snell & Wilmner, was appointed to the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board for the State Bar of Nevada. Bute will be asked to make rulings and recommendations regarding disciplinary complaints raised against licensed attorneys through screening panels and both formal and informal disciplinary proceedings during this three-year appointment.

Fred Schmidt was elected chairman of the Bar’s section on Energy, Utilities and Communication Law. Schmidt is a partner at Holland & Hart, practicing primarily in the area of regulatory and administrative law with special emphasis on public utility matters including electricity, renewable energy, natural gas, telecommunications and water.

Vegas PBS Director of Emergency Response George Molnar received Fusion Liaison Officer certification from the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center.

Brian Danfield is president of Verizon Wireless’ Southwest Region, which includes the Las Vegas area; Arizona; New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; and St. George and Cedar City, Utah. Before joining Verizon, Danfield was with the Zale Corp.

Corporate giving

Faith Lutheran Junior/Senior High School’s Business Advisory Council recently awarded the school $25,000 for digital projectors to be used in the classrooms. The Business Advisory Council has donated more than $350,000 since the group was formed in 2001. Donations have helped the purchase of state-of-the-art computer labs, mobile classrooms and other science labs.

John Anderson, owner of SH Architecture, donated services worth $10,895 to the Las Vegas Railroad Society Museum.

Office Depot donated 600 backpacks filled with school supplies to at-risk students to the After-School All-Stars Las Vegas on behalf of Bell Elementary School.

Rock & Rita’s Flair for the Cure event at Circus Circus raised $6,387 for the American Cancer Society Aug. 18.

Snell & Wilmer made a $55,000 grant to Lied Discovery Children’s Museum to be dispersed over a three-year period. The grant will go toward the museum’s early childhood education initiative.

Funding from the Labor Department will underwrite building trade and education courses at Deseret Rose Alternative High School for young adults who did not finish a traditional high school experience.
