LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Enough already: Let’s shelve the negative TV ads

Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 | 2:02 a.m.

I find it discouraging and confusing that Sen. Harry Reid, who is vying for a fifth term, considers it appropriate that the way to get elected is by disparaging and belittling a lesser-known candidate.

After 23-plus years in the Senate, he should get elected easily on the basis of his achievements. Why is it that after what he has done for the state and the country, he is having such a difficult time being elected?

Instead of negative ads it would befit him to reflect on his long-term accomplishments and on his future plans that benefit not only the state but the country.

My request regarding the negative ads is not directed toward just Reid but also other candidates. Enough of the negatives — the American people are much smarter than you think and can easily sift through the obfuscating messages directed toward them.

Tell us what you are going to do and how you are going to do it.

  1. Sen. Reid should have quit when he was ahead.

His public service has gone sour. He no longer works for the people, he works for himself and for Obama and Pelosi. The corruption associated with this administration in intolerable and Reid's participation in it is unacceptable.

Trying to cover it up with negative ads designed to destroy the opposition is equally unacceptable.

  2. Angle's supporters, all 5 of them, are INCENSED that her opponent would "stoop" to such tactics as REPEATING VERBATIM her stand on the ISSUES IMPORTANT TO VOTERS.

That, in essence, is what the letter writer is trying to pull...
"Oh, that Harry, he's running a 'dirty' campaign".
    NONSENSE.
The unique ability of the Reid Campaign to use "Crazy" Angle's OWN RHETORIC, captured in all it's glory on video and audio, to show how OUTLANDISH & BIZARRE the
Crazy Cat Lady is, cannot be held against Senator Reid.
It should, however, be held against Sharron Angle.
You are what your actions say you are; EXTREME, MEAN, & an AD Agency's DREAM!!!

  3. ...and using gbigs as "Crazy" Angle's Cheerleader
    is NOT GOING TO WORK.
It's all SMOKE & MIRRORS, folks.
    Misdirection & Subterfuge.
    Stuff & Nonsense.
    Balderdash!
    Hogwash!
    Made Up Junk.

    It's the FOX FORMULA, kids;
Take a kernel of truth, mix it up with a bowl of whopper LIES, stir vigorously, bake for 30 minutes, present to sheeple as THE GOD'S HONEST TRUTH...
