flash point:
International attention is too late
Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 | 2:01 a.m.
The attention on Nevada’s U.S. Senate race has been unprecedented as national media have swarmed into the state this past week. But it’s not just national; it’s international. Norway. Belgium. Britain. And more. And they all seem fascinated by the Tea Party movement and how Sharron Angle is a threat to the Senate majority leader. And they all want to know the same thing: Why do so many people not like Harry Reid? As I have said: It’s complicated. But at this point, it’s also simple: It doesn’t matter anymore.

Harry Reid in my opinion deserves to lose to Sharron Angle even though I think that Angle is extreme and way out of the mainstream because Reid literally tried to rig the 2008 Democratic primary in Obama's favor from behind the scenes about like how WWE wrestling matches are rigged from behind the scenes. All of this is verified in the book "Game Change" by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin starting on page 33 and in this Podcast interview that I did:

Solid Principles Podcast: Episode 34
"Not So Wild About Harry: We speak to Political Analyst Mitch Dworkin on Sen. Harry Reid, and his overlooked involvement in the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination of then Senator Barack Obama."
Harry Reid secretly trying to rig a very important Presidential primary, intentionally lying about it to the country, and having the poor judgment of picking a sincere but inexperienced Obama to be President (who I think is being eaten up alive right now by Rush Limbaugh, FOX News, and by other experienced Republican media professionals) are just "unforgivable sins" in my opinion. Reid just went too far and he could easily do something like this again being the Senate Majority Leader if he gets a blank check for another 6 year term which is why I view Sharron Angle, who would only be 1 bad Senate vote out of 100 from my standpoint, as being the lesser of two evils in the Senate when compared to Harry Reid. After all of the many stupid things that Sharron Angle has done and said, I cannot realistically picture her as being anything more than just 1 bad Senate vote out of 100 if she wins next Tuesday.
However the evils of both of them are so great in my opinion that having to choose between Reid and Angle is about like having to choose whether you would rather go blind or deaf!

Why do so many people not like Harry Reid?
As I have said: It's complicated.
But at this point, it's also simple:
It doesn't matter anymore.
The Democrats went along with the Republican Bill to stop the "fairness Doctrine" from coming back authored by Mike Pence or Steve Peace???? I forgot who..
..but anyway 6 Talk stations in Vegas are essentially non-stop free commercials for Angle...happy Democrats?? Senator deMinted pushed the amendment banning the Fairness Doctrine in the Senate..passed 87 to 11.... so the Democrats voted for their own demise
Hi mred:
While I think it is unfortunate, you are right that "the Democrats voted for their own demise" when they "went along with the Republican Bill to stop the "fairness Doctrine" from coming back authored by Mike Pence" (as well as by Jim DeMint in the Senate). That does not surprise me a lot when Harry Reid got his butt kicked by Rush Limbaugh due to his own stupidity back in 2007:

I also think that Democrats need a Senate Majority Leader who is much stronger of a person than Harry Reid is which is another reason why I hope that Reid loses to Angle:

A back door version of The Fairness Doctrine (such as "local content," "diversity of ownership," and "public interest" rules) is the one and only thing that Rush Limbaugh and his followers really and truly fear and I have been advocating that Democrats should be trying to pass it any legal way that they can for a long time:

Mr. President, Keep the Airwaves Free
As a former law professor, surely you understand the Bill of Rights.
By RUSH LIMBAUGH
Dear President Obama:
"I have a straightforward question, which I hope you will answer in a straightforward way: Is it your intention to censor talk radio through a variety of contrivances, such as "local content," "diversity of ownership," and "public interest" rules -- all of which are designed to appeal to populist sentiments but, as you know, are the death knell of talk radio and the AM band?
You have singled me out directly, admonishing members of Congress not to listen to my show..."
If Obama and the Democrats are smart, then they will show some spine by trying to force a back door version of The Fairness Doctrine through any legal way that they can in the lame duck session of Congress and/or through an FCC related appointment!
