Fire damages home in northeast valley; no injuries

House fire

Fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to a northeast valley home Thursday night.

Fire dispatchers received several calls about 10:20 p.m. from neighbors of the duplex home at 4824 Chantilly Ave., near the intersection of Nellis and Charleston boulevards. No one was home at the time of the fire.

The fire damaged the home’s kitchen and living room, officials said. The rest of the home was damaged by heavy smoke.

Firefighters arrived at the home within seven minutes of the initial call. The fire took nine minutes to extinguish.

Investigators said neighbors told them a woman lived there, but she had not been seen for awhile. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
