Two community garage sales open to Henderson residents

Henderson will be hosting two large garage sales next month geared toward helping residents organize, buy and sell goods.

The city’s Parks and Recreation department will be hosting the Giant Garage Sale, which features about 50 sellers, from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 6 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.

The Upscale Yard Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Heritage Park Senior Facility, 300 S. Racetrack Road. City officials said wares would include jewelry and other handmade items.

Both events are free and open to buyers.

“We’re finding that many people would like to have their own yard sales, but are unable to do so because they either live in a gated community or because they have concerns about privacy,” said Henderson Recreation Services Supervisor Nick McLemore in a release.

“We handle all the promotion and signage,” he said.

Although the Upscale Yard Sale has no more vendor space available, residents can sign up for space at the Giant Garage Sale at www.cityofhenderson.com.
