Buses to run on limited schedule on Thanksgiving, day after

Beyond the Sun

The Las Vegas Valley’s bus system will be running on a limited scheduled Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day and on a Saturday schedule Friday, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada said.

The RTC operates buses on a Saturday or Sunday schedule for most holidays, when ridership is typically lower.

The full schedules are available on the RTC’s website or in a printed Transit Guide. Riders with questions can call the RTC’s customer service line at 702-228-7433.

Travelers going to McCarran International Airport will still be able to use Route 109 to get there.

In addition, air travelers who want to avoid crowded parking lots at the airport can park at the RTC’s South Strip Transfer Terminal, 6675 Gilespie St., just off Sunset Road near Las Vegas Boulevard.

Free parking is available at the bus terminal, which is a 10-minute bus ride from the airport terminals.

The bus terminal has a climate controlled waiting area, bathrooms and some concessions.

Travelers can leave their cars at the terminal for up to seven days. If a vehicle will be left for more than seven days, travelers should make arrangements with security in advance, the RTC said.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be crowded on peak travel days, the RTC said.
