Rep. Shelley Berkley is breezing to a seventh term in her urban Las Vegas district, trumping Republican Kenneth Wegner for the third time in a predictable finish.

Berkley's victory Tuesday was expected because Democrats enjoy a nearly 2-to-1 registration advantage in the district.

She ran an earnest re-election effort nevertheless, coloring Las Vegas billboards with advertisements and joining Democrats for massive get-out-the-vote rallies throughout the campaign.

Wegner complained that Berkley refused to debate him. He lost to Berkley in two previous congressional races.

Nevada's Democrat-controlled Legislature drew the district to ensure it stays in party hands.
