20-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash

Motorcycle fatality

A 20-year-old North Las Vegas man was killed Friday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck on Lamb Boulevard at Van Buren Avenue, Metro Police said.

The motorcycle rider, Darius Turner, was thrown from the 2001 Suzuki GSX-R 750 and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the 2004 Nissan Titan pickup, Manuel Espinoza, 51, of Las Vegas was not injured, police said.

Evidence and witness statements indicate the motorcycle was headed north on Lamb about 6 p.m. when the truck, headed south, attempted to make a left turn onto Van Buren and hit the motorcycle, police said.

The crash is under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigation Section. It was the 33rd traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
