Former executive producer of American Idol and co-creator/executive producer of "So You Think You Can Dance," Nigel Lythgoe is an international presence in reality television.
Premiering the seventh season of "Dance" this week (the two-hour event airs on Fox at 8 p.m., Thursday), the busy Brit shared with "Las Vegas Magazine" what moves him about Sin City.
N9NE Steakhouse: It has the greatest French onion soup in Vegas. The steaks are magnificent and I recommend an Australian wine they serve, Velvet Glove; it's quite exquisite.
Lake Las Vegas: This is my second home in Las Vegas, and I love it dearly. I enjoy the peace and tranquility of Lake Las Vegas yet knowing that the action is only 30 minutes away.
Cher: This is a real "star" when celebrity is all we have nowadays. The costumes alone are worth the ticket price.
Shows: From "O" to Phantom—The Las Vegas Spectacular, a classic that is so fantastic even for being trimmed down in length for Vegas, there are so many quality productions to choose from.
Fremont Street: The $70 million light canopy is a modern wonder of the world.
MGM Grand Garden Arena: I brought Kelly Clarkson and the other Idols from season one there for our first concert.
