Crash location

A 26-year-old man died Wednesday night after his car collided into three moving vehicles, including a police cruiser.

Ivan Carrillo of North Las Vegas died at University Medical Center at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Metro Police received a call at 10:09 p.m. that a black Honda Civic was moving slowly and was weaving between lanes in the area of Carey Avenue and Lamb Boulevard.

A Metro motorcycle officer found the car and tried to stop it, but police say Carrillo continued driving the Honda Civic slowly toward Nellis Boulevard. When the vehicle reached Nellis Boulevard, it sped up, police said.

The motorcycle officer called in a police helicopter for help while patrol officers on the ground began a short pursuit of the Honda. Carrillo failed to stop, police said, and the police cruisers ended the pursuit while continuing to follow the vehicle without lights and sirens.

The Honda, which was northbound on Lamb, struck a police car after reaching the intersection of Lamb and Lone Mountain Road. The Honda then crossed over into the southbound lanes on Lamb, colliding with a Ford Contour and a Dodge Ram 1500.

The Dodge Ram then struck a Pontiac Grand Prix, police said.

The driver of the Ford Contour, Andrea Hottel, 31, of Las Vegas, was taken to UMC with moderate injuries, investigators said. No other drivers were injured.
