Lowden says she ‘misspoke’ about owning bus

U.S. Senate candidate Sue Lowden says she "misspoke" when she described her campaign bus as a donation and that a lease agreement shows she doesn't own the recreational vehicle despite having her name on its title.

Democrats have sent a complaint to the Federal Election Commission that alleges Lowden took an excessive campaign contribution and didn't report it properly.

Lowden said Wednesday during an interview on KXNT-AM that her private lease shows she doesn't own the bus. She says her name was on the title for registration purposes.

But a Department of Motor Vehicle spokesman says a person can't be on a Nevada vehicle title without being its owner.

State DMV spokesman Kevin Malone says the DMV doesn't recognize private leases.
