Jean Airport

Metro Police have ended their search for a light aircraft after a search and rescue helicopter found no evidence of a crash in the area of Jean Airport.

Metro spokesman Bill Cassell said the helicopter returned to base and no further search activities are expected.

He said officers received signals about 3:30 p.m. that a pilot could have been in trouble in the area of Jean Airport, which is about 15 miles south of the Las Vegas Valley. After receiving emergency signals indicating the aircraft might have crashed, the plane went off McCarran International Airport’s radar, Cassell said.

But authorities didn't find wreckage or anything out of the ordinary.
